Sparkplugs News · Girls Basketball Senior Night combined with Unified Basketball Game

It’s a big night at the Morris Pollard Gymnasium tonight (Thursday January 30).  The varsity and JV girls basketball teams will be hosting Cascade in the final regular season game of the year.

Immediately after the JV game, Speedway’s Student Athletic Leadership Team is sponsoring a Unified Sports Basketball game.   Speedway and Cascade students will compete in this first-time event.  This will start at approximately 7:15 p.m.   It’s also Senior Night for the varsity girls and that game is expected to begin around 7:45.   The varsity girls (15-6, 4-2 ICC) will be battling Cascade (12-9, 4-2 ICC) for third place outright in a competitive ICC race.

On Tuesday, the varsity girls defeated Indianapolis Lutheran.    The girls basketball program (grades 7-12) participated in the annual Coaches vs. Cancer initiative.   Attached is a picture of the proud participants.
