Sparkplugs News · Plugs on winning streak entering state tournament play

Speedway’s varsity girls basketball team capped off a 16-6 regular season with a 67-64 win Thursday night against Cascade.  The win clinched third place in the Indiana Crossroads Conference race and was the team’s 13th win in their last 15 games.

Speedway received a first round bye and will open Sectional play Friday February 8th at Indianapolis George Washington.  The Sparkplugs will play at 6 p.m. against the winner of the Cardinal Ritter-George Washington game that will be held on February 4th.

If Speedway plays Washington (10-9), it will be the first meeting between the two teams this year.   If Speedway plays Cardinal Ritter (13-9), it will be a rematch from a November, early-season game which the Raiders narrowly won 53-49.
