The Sparkplugs began a five game road trip Monday with a 1-4 loss to the host Decatur Central Hawks. The Sparkplugs were a little flat up and down the line to start the match, except for #1 singles player Sar Moo who continued his strong play of late. Moo led 4-3 early in the first set before a three game swoon caused a loss of his first set. Moo rallied to win the second set 6-4 and fell in a third set tiebreaker, 10-7.
The number one doubles team of Jack Thompson and Jacob Foxworthy have participated in three third-set tiebreakers this season. They broke through in this one to win their first sudden-death tilt of the season, given the Plugs their only point of the night. The duo won the first set in a tiebreaker, only to lose set number two 4-6, setting up the showdown.
